	The Russian Ural mountains are very rich in minerals. Most of the semiprecious stones that we carry in our stores are mined in the Urals. Among them there is malachite, jasper, turquoise, snakestone (serpentine), amethyst, onyx and many others. Ural stones are well known beyond the Ural Mountains. Ancient Greeks wrote about them, and they are mentioned in the Scandinavian Sagas. Stone carving originated in the Urals more than 300 years ago. The variety of the stones from the Ural Mountains is surprising (malachite, rodonite, jasper, onyx, lapis lazuli, cat’s eye, turquoise and much more). Articles made of hard stones (malachite, rodonite, jasper) are characterized by classical form and irreproachable taste. The combination of bronze and stones is also common, and is widely represented in different figures, clocks, candleholders and boxes.
